Please check and empty your child's folder every night.   

Thursday Folder:  V V Cougar folders will be sent home every Thursday. All important information from the school will be placed in this folder. Please return the folder the next day. Also return important papers as soon as possible. Homework and corrected work will be in the student’s daily homework folder.

Handwriting:   Cursive writing will start in November. By the end of the school year, we will be doing all of our work in cursive writing.

Test Envelopes: A large clasp envelope with student tests will be sent home weekly.  Please sign and return tests in envelope as soon as possible. I try to send tests home the day after the Reading test. However, I do not always finish correcting the tests in time. Please be patient.  (If you have any questions about the tests, please send a separate note so it doesn’t accidentally get filed with the tests.)

Birthdays can be celebrated in school.  If you are bringing a treat for the class, please send in a note sometime before so we can plan time in our schedule.  Summer birthdays can be celebrated in April or May before school ends.

Behavior: Students are expected to show “Cougar Pride” at all times during the school day. Students begin the day with their clip on the Cougar Paw Behavior Chart. If good choices are made, it remains on the paw and the student is given Cougar Cash at the end of the day. Each time a student does not make a good choice, his/her clip is moved on the chart with consequences: 1st move - Warning, 2nd move - think and discuss meeting with teacher. Two think and discuss meetings within a certain time result in a red letter sent home to be signed by parents. If the child continues to make bad choices, the student is sent to the principal, and Mrs. Kishel will call home.

Notes:  Please send a note for any bus changes or early dismissal.
